Dear friends....
This event has three sides to its charitable contribution.
1) We will support the charity organisation “Wherever The Need”. An internationally recognised registered charity. (www.wherevertheneed.org.uk) registered charity number 1070826.
This year we will be contributing to a new clean water well in one of the poorer districts of Bamako.
2) We will be adopting a village in Mali to sponsor. This will involve the supply of medical equipment, educational aids, children’s toys and clothes.
3) We have to pay for all of the equipment, supplies and cost of the trip ourselves. We have purchased a Mitsubishi Shogan/Pajero, which we will donate to a local charity in Bamako.
To help raise funds for this amazing opportunity we are asking for your help in the following small ways.
We are asking for you to look in your cupboards and drawers and down the back of your sofas, for all that left over small change that is put into jars and pots, never to be used again.
Whatever the amount, all donations will be gratefully received. Even if it's just a few pennies.
All of our personal costs will be met by ourselves. All money raised will go directly to charity. There will not be any deductions made from your donations by us. The money will be split between our adopted village and the new clean water well project.
We are aiming to raise £4000 ( $8000usd, €7000, 47000Nok) each. We have both put in half of this amount ourselves.
Just as important as any financial contribution are the following items.
Any good quality children’s clothes (including shoes).
Toys (non battery), especially anything to do with football, ie: shirts, boots & balls. Teddy bears, soft toys & dolls.
Anything to be used in the classroom, especially art materials.
All will be accepted with huge appreciation.
We would both like to thank you enormously in advance of your kind generosity.
